Bangladesh Literacy Association (BLA) is the professional organization of individuals concerned with the improvement of reading at all sectors of education viz. pre-primary, primary, secondary and higher secondary, higher education/ university education and non-formal education sectors of Bangladesh. BLA established by Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) in 2005 as a National Affiliate of International Reading Association (IRA) of USA. The BRA officially approved by IRA on 28 July 2008. From its inception, BLA organizes teachers/educators of different sub-sectors in Bangladesh and improving their capacity to develop quality of education. It is also establishing as a teachers/educators network at the national and international level.
Education serves as the means to bring about the desired change in society to develop a generation of virtuous individuals and thus contribute to the development of good resource. The fundamental purpose of education is to gain knowledge, inculcate the forms of proper conduct and acquire technical competency.
